Thesis Process Blog

This week was a week of reflection of my thesis project and what I hope to accomplish in the summer and next semester. The content requirements for my remaining deliverables include each product's description and ingredients, packaging, and advertising tagline/copy info for the future online ads. It seems 210 Confeccion needs more of a “voice” in it’s visual assets when it comes to copy. The photography of each product is also needed and I see the “Caramelos” images I used for the app, to be the best direction. This summer, I plan to get the content of the branding, work on photography, and have a general game plan for the packaging. I’ll also update the content from this class. Next semester I plan to take Thesis 2 and a packaging class, so my next deliverable will be with packaging. I’ll also update the deliverables from this class, especially the app/website as needed. This week I worked further on the app, created a couple of shirts for customers to purchase, and updated the visual look of my presentation.  I noticed after drawing out the product pages, that the designs were looking too detailed, so I decided to simplify it more.  Overall I'm proud of the work I did this semester, but will continue to go back and refine anything that needs editing; especially my app. It was great seeing my Thesis project evolve, especially the branding. I learned more about Adobe XD and user interface. I also discovered how to be more detailed in my work, but I know I still have room to grow too.  This summer, I plan to explore photography options since I discovered a more suitable "look" for the packaging product shots. I also plan to figure out a general packaging plan such as shapes and materials. In a few weeks time, I want to go back to the project and see where I can make further refinements in what I created this semester.  ...

This week, I refined the app more and connected some of the art boards to make it more of a full-fledged app. I also fixed the pop-up shop board sign, which I realized I called a PoP Display prior, but perhaps I can still create one too. I've also created loyalty punch cards and employee shirts. I may also create customer t-shirts for purchase at the pop-up shops as well. This week I updated a few of the graphics from the app and visual system. I also worked on materials that would be at events like bags and a Point of Purchase Display. I also want to explore more merchandise options such as t-shirts; for both workers at events and customers.
