Week 5_Personas

List basic demographics like gender, age, and income (plus any other demographic info you think is important and relevant to the topic). Then list a minimum of three specific traits that personify the archetype in relation to the topic. These traits should aim to define the life stage and can be related to demographics. Do not just list the traits as statistics—give reasons as to why the age or gender or other demographic matters in relation to the topic.

Then write a short statement from the perspective of the archetype (minimum of three sentences). Write what you think the archetypes would say about your topic. What do they really think?

8 Personas:
  1. Paul Jones
    -Gender: Male
    -Age: 35
    -Location: Houston, TX
-Occupation: Account Manager at Marketing Agency
-Main health concern: Anxiety and mild Crohn's disease
    -CBD use: Frequently, daily
-Prefered CBD product of choice: CBD vape
-Favorite type of candy: Gum/ Gumballs

Traits: Easy-going, Proactive, Reliable, Stubborn

Hey ya’ll, Paul here. I currently live in Houston, Texas, but I am originally from Denver, Colorado. Since living in Houston, I’ve noticed there is a lot of vape shops and being that I used to weed way back when, I decided to try a legal alternative. I heard CBD can help with anxiety and Crohn's disease. Select CBD is my choice of vape, I use the flavored ones, but it still leaves that “weed” taste. It’s not a big issue because I love Select CBD’s products, I don’t see myself changing anytime soon.

  1. Sarah Gamez
-Gender: Female
-Age: 30
-Location: Bulverde, TX
-Occupation: Graphic designer/student
-Main health concern: Menstrual pain
-CBD use: Occasional, once a month
-Prefered CBD product of choice: CBD gel capsules
-Favorite type of candy: Cherry Sours

Traits: Quiet, Creative, Honest, Sarcastic

Hello! I’m Sarah and I am a graphic designer/student. I currently live outside of San Antonio in a small town called Bulverde. Since I’ve moved here, two years ago, I realized there is a lot of CBD stores popping up. I have really bad menstrual cramps, and I don’t like to pop too many pain pills, so CBD is something I was curious about. I’ve tried all sorts of CBD products: oils, teas, edibles, and patches, but my favorite are CBD gel capsules because they don’t have a plant taste and they are inconspicuous to take. Even though CBD is meant to use alone, I still take IBUProfen for my cramps with CBD as an extra boost to tide me over till the next dosage. I’m not the biggest fan of edibles because sometimes I take CBD in the early morning and the last thing I want to taste is candy. Too bad, I do love candy though.

  1. Stephanie Martinez
-Gender: Female
-Age: 20
-Location: San Antonio, TX
-Occupation: Student
-Main health concern: Insomnia
-CBD use: Daily
-Prefered CBD product of choice: Edibles
-Favorite type of candy: Hershey’s almond chocolate bar

Hey! I’m Stephanie Martinez and I currently live in San Antonio while I’m getting my degree in Finances at University of Texas-San Antonio. Despite the late hours I do studying, I have issues falling asleep at night and I’m weary of taking sleeping pills since I had a bad experience with them in the past. I went to Alamo Botanicals, here in San Antonio, to find alternatives. I tried these gummy sugary bears which were good, but they were really sweet and got stuck in my teeth. But they worked! My insomnia improved significantly in a week. I went back and looked for other varieties, chocolates or even hard candy, but they only have gummy candy or caramels. Guess I’ll stick with the bears for now.

Traits: Hard-working, Friendly, Playful, Forgetful

  1. Markus Shepherd
    -Gender: Male
-Age: 36
-Location: San Marcos, TX
-Occupation: Sales Manager
-Main health concern: Nicotine addiction
-CBD use: None, new potential consumer
-Prefered CBD product of choice: No preference
-Favorite type of candy: Hard caramels

Markus here, I’m a Sales Manager for Best Buy in San Marcos Texas, right outside of Austin Texas. I used to be a smoker back in my 20s, but haven’t touched a cig in 13 years since I started a family. But, work can be stressful and I want to take something that is relatively healthy so I looked into CBD. I’ve tried CBD vapes, but I don’t want to do something similar to smoking. I’ve looked into CBD edibles, but I don’t know gummy bears? What am I 12? I do like caramels, but there’s none in my area unless I look online. But, I don’t trust online shopping for not-weed products.

Traits: Authoritative, Caring, Funny, Impatient

  1. Jennifer Harlan
    -Gender: Female
-Age: 26
-Location: Austin, TX
-Occupation: Barista at coffee shop
-Main health concern: Anxiety
-CBD use: Occasional
-Prefered CBD product of choice: CBD oil
-Favorite type of candy: Jolly ranchers

Hi! I’m Jennifer and I work at Mozart’s Coffee Roasters, in Austin Texas, as a barista and sometimes baker. I am also trying to go vegan and practice the all-natural side of remedies which is why I turn to CBD for my anxiety. Even though I try to be healthy, I indulge every now and then in sweets. But, as much as I love sweets, there’s not much for me as far as CBD and edibles are concerned, so I turn to CBD oil which is almost always vegan. I am willing to try new CBD products in my area as long as they are vegan.

Traits: Light-hearted, Daring, Mindful, Controlling

  1. Beatrice Meadow
    -Gender: Female
-Age: 49
-Location: Dallas, TX
-Occupation: Retired teacher
-Main health concern: Rheumatoid arthritis
-CBD use: Rarely
-Prefered CBD product of choice: No preference
-Favorite type of candy: Sugar free chocolate turtles

My name is Beatrice Meadow and I am a retired teacher living in Dallas, Texas. I’ve been having a lot of medical issues lately, but I try to keep an upbeat attitude about it. One of my primary concerns is my arthritis which started about a year ago. I love crafting, so having aching joints is terrible. My daughter has recommended CBD to me so I talked to my doctor about it, since I have diabetes, and he says it would be fine. I tried my daughter’s CBD oil and the taste is awful! She says there are “candy” ones, but I don’t think they have any that are sugar-free. I hope to find a way to take CBD another way, because it does help, but the taste is yuck.

Traits: Patient, Expressive, Talkative, Bossy

  1. Eric Valdez
    -Gender: Male
-Age: 29
-Location: Beeville, TX
-Occupation: IT specialist assistant
-Main health concern: Muscle pain
-CBD use: Rarely
-Prefered CBD product of choice: No preference
-Favorite type of candy: Licorice

Yo I’m Eric Valdez. I’m an IT Specialist in Beeville and have the occasional muscle pain due to my Autoimmune disease. It’s not a major set back, but every now and then it’s a little tough so I pop an aspirin. My co-worker suggested CBD and I looked it up, it seems a little wack. I went to a CBD store and had a sample of their edible and I honestly felt nothing. Plus, the gummy was too sour and I am more of a plain taste in my candy. Perhaps I need to take a higher dosage of CBD, but for the money, I rather stick with my aspirin.

Traits: Mindful, Witty, Fair, Skeptical

  1. TJ Williams
    -Gender: Male
-Age 41
-Location: Alamo Heights, TX
-Occupation: Professional Trainer
-Main health concern: Depression
-CBD use: Rarely
-Prefered CBD product of choice: No preference
-Favorite type of candy: Doesn’t like candy

Hey TJ here. I am a Professional trainer at Planet Fitness in San Antonio. I eat healthy and work out constantly for my job and for leisure. I’m not into the idea of CBD. I never had it and don’t need it. I do suffer from depression, but I take medication for it and therapy and it works. Not knocking on those who use CBD, it’s just not my kind of thing. I see a lot of candy for it, like bears, and it’s not for me especially since I don’t like candy and it’s bad for you—too much sugar.

Traits: Strong-willed, Adventurous, Caring, Impatient
